Typical duties for a lab assistant may include, but is not limited to, the following:
Performing phlebotomy according to established procedure Identify patients and properly label specimen tubes Determine priority of STAT draws and ensure timely transport of all patient specimens for testing Registers, orders, and accessions specimens utilizing lab and hospital information systems Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in written form Ensure the efficient operation of the lab as a whole For the 5th year in a row, Greater Regional has been named one of the Top 50 Workplaces in Iowa, which we credit to our employees shared cultural values.
